In 2023, together with the design/art direction studio Ifix Web, I was asked to create a series of illustrations for the covers of a new book series published by Luiss University Press

Together with the art director/designer Maurizio Ceccato, we asked ourselves what was the most suitable and modern style to inaugurate the series of books, also considering that Luiss was preparing itself to republish some international best sellers such as those ones by Helga Nowotny and Camille Paglia.

We opted for a clean, graphic style, thanks to the conceptual illustration, which with its flat colors and shades allowed us to illustrate the pop universe of Peter Szendy's philosophy in his "Kant and the extraterrestrials". We let ourselves go to cinematographic quotes: from The X-files to The Matrix, from Doctor Who to Star Trek.

All seasoned with a lively color palette that helped us represent pop culture without sacrificing the coherence and seriousness required by a book series like the one published by Luiss University Press.

The best reward for a professional illustrating a series of books is to recognize the hand behind the cover and seeing the book series taking shape while maintaining a coherence of style that goes beyond the mere graphic cage in which the illustration is enclosed.
